PROGRESSIVE ROCK
Untouchable by Suit Up, Soldier
With a fast tempo, big choruses and a blistering 24 bar drum solo, this song is a great showcase of my technical proficiency and innovative spirit on the drums.
POP PUNK
The Hope Song by Mason Daly
This song illustrates my ability to keep up with very quick tempos - and make them feel great!
BIG BAND JAZZ
Avenue L - The Bobby St Mute Big Band
I grew up playing with numerous jazz groups, from big bands like this one to small combos. This song is just a small showcase of how at home I feel in the jazz genre.
BRUSHES
Annabella, After Everything - Ben Day
As much as I enjoy complex and technical fills, aggressive beats and quick tempos, I also love nuance and subtlety. Annabella, After Everything is a glimpse into my ability to bring a soft touch and nuance with brushes to softer singer-songwriter ballads - and any genre for that matter!
FUNK
Superstition - The Steven Halliday Band
This track (and every other song I recorded with SHB on this album) is a good sampling of my ability to get FUNKY and make a song truly groove.
COMPLEX ARRANGEMENT
Blame - Mason Daly
Though technically a "pop punk" song, Blame is a complex and very particular arrangement which allowed me to shine in my ability to guide a song and catch hits, unison figures, and still drive the arrangement forward.
SINGER-SONGWRITER/BLUES
Stitches In My Brain - Brodsky
This song allowed me to strike a nice balance between nuanced yet straightforward timekeeping duties, and aggressive and fun jamming towards the end of the piece.
...AND MORE!
I put together this Spotify playlist to catalog all the recordings I've played on. I'm still building it out, (and some recordings I've played on unfortunately aren't on Spotify) but it includes the tracks above as well as many other tracks of various genres with my drumming.
